Friday night the Ontario Warriors make the trip down to the Valley to take on Clear Fork. Both teams come in at 2-1; the Warriors have won two in a row after the opening week loss to Lexington. Clear Fork won their first two games over Perkins and Zanesville, followed by a tough 31-28 loss to Lexington last Friday.
Last year, the Warriors defeated the Colts twice, including a playoff matchup that ended Clear Fork's season in the opening round 24-2 . Clear Fork has revenge on their minds as they open up conference play. Ontario looks to keep a three-game win streak going over Clear Fork. In fact, in the last three games they’ve played, the Colts have only scored two touchdowns. Friday night, the Colts will come into the game with a giant chip on their shoulder.

Since the week one loss, Ontario has hit their stride, offensively exploding for 93 points in the last two weeks. The Warrior defense has been just as good, only surrendering 12 points in that span. Ontario’s offense this season has been taken over by sophomore running back Kooper Kilgore. Through three games, Kilgore has rushed for 327 yards and four touchdowns on just 28 carries, making Kilgore the leading rusher in the conference.
After a tough loss to Lexington last week, Clear Fork will look to rebound as it opens MOAC play. The defense came up with some big turnovers last week but also gave up over 400 yards of offense , so they will be ready to get back on track against the Warriors. Offensively last week, Clear Fork was forced to pass much more than they typically want to and will try to get the run game going again against the Warriors. If the Colts’ offense can continue to throw the ball effectively, they should be able to get the run game mojo back from the first two weeks.

In football, they say you shouldn’t let a team beat you two weeks in a row, meaning the Colts must put their first loss behind them and not let it carry over to this week. Judging by Clear Fork’s resilience against the Minutemen, in which they trailed by double digits twice and came back with a chance to win at the end, this squad proved they've got the fight and the mindset to bounce back and start conference play the right way. The last time Ontario came to the Valley, the Warriors won 45-0 back in 2023, so it’s going to be interesting to see how the Colts respond in this crucial week four game.
